How To Make Beautiful Wire Wrapped Stone Pendants

Simply cut a 2 foot piece of wire, make a "rabbit ear" loop, place the loop at the top of the stone and wrap until you use all of the wire.
TIP: Rough stones are easier to wrap than polished stones.
I found these child sized wire cutters and long nosed pliers at our local craft store. How perfect.

cool piece of work. The child sized wire cutters do scare me a bit though....

Never underestimate the abilities of of a well prepared child. In our Montessori classroom we begin guiding our children to use "real tools" at a very young age. Lessons are presented carefully and clearly and monitored closely by the adults in the classroom. We demonstrate our trust in the child by offering challenging work which results in the child rising to this challenge with the respect and responibility required. This belief in the child is a very important part of an authentic Montessori classroom.

Thank you for this idea! My daughter and I recently panned for gems in NC and wanted to make some jewelry out of the ones we found!

Wonderful idea, we tried this with bits of "sea glass" found on a trip to the coast, it was a huge success. Thanks!
